Hi, I’m Lex — a Principal Engineer specialising in charting, analytics, and design systems, with a focus on data pipelines and the interfaces that make sense of them.
On the frontend I work with TypeScript, D3, and Highcharts to build visualisations that turn complex data into something a human can actually reason about. On the backend I work with Rust, Tantivy, and Quickwit for search and retrieval, ClickHouse for analytics at scale, and Cloudflare Workers with WASM for compute at the edge. The pipeline from raw data to rendered insight is where I feel most at home.
My interests pull towards full-text search, NLP, and information retrieval — which is why I’m building nlpcitations.com and tilebasedworlds.com.
I believe the most effective engineering happens in environments built on equality, fairness, and emotional safety. Teams that get this right ship better software. It’s not a soft ideal — it’s a productivity multiplier.
